It has been reported that dysregulated Transthyretin (TTR) transcript and decreased protein expression during fibrotic progression. Therefore, TTR gene is expected to become a target for hepatic fibrosis monitoring. The study aims to prepare and evaluate a fluorine-18-labeled transthyretin siRNA molecular probe targeting TTR mRNA for PET imaging of liver fibrosis preclinically.
